According to Sexgod, Rosanna Davison, host of this years pageant - "It looks really good this year, the standard is very high. The winner will need to be confident and have an ability to express themselves -- it's just not about who's the prettiest," she said.

Thats what we're talking about here in the Scheitgeist dorm. For too long pretty models have been walking away with these awards, unchecked and unscrutinised. Cast aside the looks, the swimsuits, the high heels - we want our Miss Universe Ireland to be able to express themselves.

Well express this Ms Lynn Kelly, Miss Universe Ireland 2008....

For information, the winner will represent Ireland at Miss Universe 2009. The first runner up will enter Miss Europe 2009. The Second Runner Up will enter Miss Tourism Queen International 2009. The Third Runner Up will enter Miss Intercontinental 2009. The Fourth Runner Up will enter Miss Globe International 2009.

That all sounds like perfectly good rude fun to me.

Model Jenny-Lee Masterson has devastated her army of loyal male fans by stepping out with a new beau.

The blonde beauty has struck up a relationship with handsome musician Sam Bejaoui.

The smiling pair were more than happy to pose for the cameras as they chatted and joked with photographers at the premiere of the Shawshank Redemption at the Gaiety Theatre.

Limelight

"They were very close and seemed very at ease together," one guest revealed.

"Sam seemed very comfortable in the limelight and had no problem posing for his picture with Jenny-Lee. Everyone was joking with him that he must be foreign because of his dark looks and unusual surname.

"But he was quick to set them straight and said that he's 'Irish through and through and was born and bred in Dublin'."

Romance

However, the two, who are said to be enjoying the early days of a blossoming romance, are keen to stay tight-lipped about the details of their new relationship.

Sam, a Dublin northsider, is involved with local eight-piece band The Soul Brothers, and plays the guitar with the blues and soul group.

The singer's band replicates the style of the Blues Brothers.
